Lionel Racing Finds New Creative Content Opportunities on YouTube

Background

Longtime viewers of Eric Estepp’s Out of the Groove will know that NASCAR diecast is a major piece of the content on his channel. From stop-motion animations to parody skits to of course just plain bolstering his own collection, Eric goes way back with NASCAR diecast collecting.

So when the 2020 NASCAR season came to a close, Eric began working on an all-new diecast project. The idea: an Authentic NASCAR homage to his fellow downhill diecast creators on YouTube. And to make the perfect NASCAR diecast race, he knew he’d need the perfect partner.

Production

Enter Lionel Racing. While Eric busied with the construction of the track, Lionel Racing assembled the roster of racers. All of the cars seen in the series are the actual 2020 diecast for the vehicles. In some cases they even went into the vault for the real production models (!!!), that’s how far they went to ensure the perfect 2020 NASCAR diecast experience.

Meanwhile, fans followed along step by step through Eric’s social media, each piece getting hundreds of engagements and thousands of impressions as the Groovy Gang eagerly awaited the premiere.
